Dress Code Policy
"Dress for Success"
Dress should not be a major concern or
a cause of distraction at Hanby. Students should take pride in their
appearance and realize that dress is an extension of their personality
and is often indicative of their attitude toward school. With this in
mind, the following conditions have been adopted for students attending
Hanby.
 |
The length of all shorts, pants, and skirts must be to the knee. |
 |
All shorts, pants, and skirts must be worn at the waist. It is
strongly recommended that belts be worn. |
 |
Skirts and dresses may not have slits that extend above the
knee. |
 |
Pajama pants and bedroom slippers are not permitted. |
 |
Shirts must have sleeves, must reach the waist, and may not be
low-cut, see through, or revealing. Shoulders and stomachs must
be covered at all times. |
 |
Coats are not to be worn in the building. Outerwear must be
kept in your locker. Sweaters and sweatshirts with or without
hoods and with or without zippers are permitted. |
 |
Hats and headgear of any kind are not to be worn in the
building. This includes earmuffs, bandannas, sweatbands,
headscarves, and sunglasses. |
 |
All backpacks and book bags must be kept in a locker during the
school day. It is recommended that students place valuable
personal belongings and purses in a locked locker during the
school day. |
 |
All clothing must be free of offensive pictures or language. |
 |
Bare feet are not permitted. It is recommended for safety
reasons that students wear shoes/sneakers that cover the toes. |
Sports teams will follow the dress
code during the school day.
Students in violation of the dress
code policy will be required to change. If the student does not have a
change of clothing, a parent/guardian will be contacted to bring one to
school. Students will not be permitted to attend class while in
violation of the dress code.
